The Blancos – Lemon Garden (Official Video)

By VMan

The Blancos have been on my radar for a good few months now, and for the first time we can finally put a face to the voices with their latest music video for “Lemon Garden” , and it gets even more raw for these 2 as their voices fit the look, bearded grungy dudes who probably don’t have a care in the world. It’s Monday afternoon, so here’s a 1:30 ditty with visuals to accompany of The Blancos’ “Lemon Garden.” This is a must watch and a must listen!

Rambacy feat. Danny Claire – New Life (Cold Rush Remix)

By JT

Rambacy feat. Danny Claire New Life Cold Rush Remix 500x500 Rambacy feat. Danny Claire New Life (Cold Rush Remix)

Trance enthusiasts will enjoy this one. Bringing energetic life into Rambacy’s progressive “New Life,” Cold Rush have done it again. This Estonian duo is not an unfamiliar name in the Trance scene. Indeed, they have stuck to their roots, pushing us into a state of trance with crushing bass and emotional synths as we fly at 138 BPM, consistently. This track is a pure example of what you can expect from the legendary Abora Recordings. Cold Rush have become essential additions to the toolkits of producer/DJ’s like Armin Van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold, Ronski Speed, Binary Finary, and Aly & Fila and 2014 shows no sign of slowing down. Close your eyes and reach out as Cold Rush extend their hand, helping you take a step off the edge of reality to a new existence.

Andero & Nectum ft. Ian Everson – Gravity (Robin Hagglund Remix)

By JT

Robin Hagglund Gravity Remix Andero & Nectum ft. Ian Everson Gravity (Robin Hagglund Remix)

Last week, Robin Hagglund took us on a walk down memory lane with “Flashback” and today he’s taking us on an interstellar rollercoaster ride with “Gravity.” Grounding us with his take on this originally big-room banger, Robin Hagglund steps it up with this phenomenally syncopated tune; the energy isn’t lost, only relocated. It is a crime to give this many eargasms in one sitting.

Lyric Lincoln — Bodies

By jeffwbaird

10703757 873280729363712 6957106596489171748 n 500x452 Lyric Lincoln — Bodies

It is really hard to make smart pop music. The charts will always be predominantly filled by recent successors within familiar tropes: body braggadocio (“All About That Bass”, “Anaconda”); hater-denouncement (“Shake It Off”); dehumanization of women (“Animals”); relationship turbulence (“Stay With Me”) — I could go on; but when I hear a song that is smart, that contains a semblance of wisdom — I know that it’s something special.

“Bodies”, the first single from Lyric’s upcoming project, Garden of Even, was produced by Jonathan Buscema and is every bit as memorable and upbeat as those aforementioned. It feels and sounds like a traditional pop song, and yet it reads like the work of an established, eloquent songwriting talent, leaving the listener (as I believe all great art does) mentally engaged and aware throughout the existential track.

This is only our first taste of Lyric Lincoln — a budding NYC singer, songwriter, and model — but with a first release like this, she’s definitely got my attention.

Ferry Tayle feat. Sarah Shields & Ludovic H – The Most Important Thing (Falcon Remix)

By JT

The Most Important Thing Falcon Remix Ferry Tayle feat. Sarah Shields & Ludovic H The Most Important Thing (Falcon Remix)

Calling all Trance Warriors! Fresh off the press at Always Alive Recordings, American trance producer Nate Kozlowski (Falcon) has brought us his take at Ferry Tayle’s “The Most Important Thing” and is this track fire. The guitar strings follow a transition from heart-melting vocals, stealing us away from reality. Euphoric would be an understatement. Nate has received support for his music from top trance DJs such as Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Dash Berlin, Aly & Fila, Paul Oakenfold, Markus Schulz and Roger Shah. Nate also had the opportunity to debut his DJ career at EDC Orlando in 2012 after winning Insomniac’s Discovery Project contest.

This track is a prime example of uplifting trance – to all my friend who are not afraid of 138, expect this one to become an essential tune for your favourite DJ’s toolkit.

A Sense of Wonder by Dan Sieg

By JT

silka015 cover 500x500 A Sense of Wonder by Dan Sieg

A Sense of Wonder is an album entirely dedicated to our generation of lovers, adventurers, and dreamers. It is an album that inspires, musically narrating tales of victory and defeat caught in between simple moments and complex realities. It is an album that innovates, as Dan Sieg demonstrates he’s unafraid to play with our emotions by experimenting with both the uplifting and dark sides of progressive trance. He reminds us that curiosity doesn’t always lead to a sense of discovery – it can bite you right back. Released by the titan’s of progressive trance and house, Silk Royal Records, A Sense of Wonder can be commended for defining “Progressive Trance,” as it is truly a work of art.

Dan Sieg hasn’t always gone by this moniker. He paved his path into progressive trance as Dan & Sam (Sam Wilkinson) and after showcasing the timeless “Walls” with sensational vocalist Maxx Hennard (an XM Electric Area 52 favorite), the floodgates had opened. Dan couldn’t slow down. He released over 30 originals and remixes in the past year, all in lieu of perfecting A Sense of Wonder. Indeed, Dan’s 17 years of musical endurance, which started with guitar at age …read more

Kevin Abstract – Hell/Heroina (Video)

By TwirlyHatMatt

After crowd-funding his way to shoot this video, Kevin Abstract has emerged with the product of a few thousand dollars, a killer song, and a lot of hard work.

If you didn’t think he was crazy for live-streaming his computer desktop for 24 hours, this video will undoubtedly arouse questions of his sanity. This for me is a good sign. All the best artists have a mad-scientist side to them with thousands of ideas swirling in their head, an alter-ego, or even just a strange appearance.

Kevin has the vision. He has the industry watching. Now it’s just a matter of delivering the best product he possibly can. The “Hell/Heroina” video is a step in the right direction.

Billy Chambers – Lake House Lullaby

By TwirlyHatMatt

Screen Shot 2014 10 28 at 6.10.05 PM 500x373 Billy Chambers Lake House Lullaby

A few weeks back, Billy Chambers grabbed my attention with his bouncy Galimatias-produced track, “Gold”. This week he returned with “Lake House Lullaby” which continues to push forward his new sound. Chambers has the ability to tell a story that captivates and brings the reader in to his shoes. A talent that many strive for, but few actually achieve.

Enjoy this first sampling of the young DMV representative, because I’m sure that there is plenty more to come.

Jessie Andrews – In Motion (EP)

By BIGLIFE

artworks 000096390065 xwvm68 t500x500 Jessie Andrews In Motion (EP)

Many moons ago, we had the opportunity to catch a Jessie Andrews set at SISU in Dallas at the urging of our friend and summer time authority Viceroy. We were pleasantly surprised. We even went for ice cream after but that’s for another time. This new “In Motion” effort from Jessie is solid body of work. Engineered by OWSLA’s Nick Thayer and recorded in North Melbourne, “In Motion” is simple but manages to cut through the clutter with groovy beats and feel good vibes proving sometimes simple is best. Jessie Andrews’s “In Motion” is avaiable on Beatport via ZIVS November 15th. Pick that up.
